Gender-affirming recovery, in a safe and affirming space

Gender-affirming procedures, including top surgery and facial surgery, can involve drains, careful positioning, and a dilation schedule your surgeon sets.

Why healing through the night protects your result

Recovery should also happen somewhere safe, affirming, and discreet.

Many patients travel for these surgeries and recover away from home, which is the model Prestige is built for: an RN who handles the clinical care, supports your surgeon's protocol, and treats you with respect at every visit.

Questions patients ask us

I'm traveling to Pennsylvania for surgery, who takes care of me afterward?

That's exactly what Prestige is built for. Your RN meets you at discharge, provides overnight and daily care wherever you're staying, whether hotel, rental, or recovery suite, across the Philadelphia suburbs, coordinates with your surgical team, and arranges transport from the surgery center to your door.

How long does top surgery recovery take?

Most people are up and gently mobile within days, with drains typically out in one to two weeks and lifting restrictions for four to six weeks. The first 72 hours involve the most monitoring: drains, dressings, medication. An RN covers that window so you can simply rest.

Will my recovery nurse respect my identity and privacy?

Yes, without qualification. Prestige care is affirming, respectful, and fully discreet: correct name and pronouns, no assumptions, no judgment, and complete confidentiality about your care. A safe, non-judgmental recovery environment is part of the service definition, not an accommodation.

Can a nurse help with my dilation schedule after bottom surgery?

Yes, where applicable. Your surgeon sets the dilation protocol; your RN supports the schedule, including timing, setup, privacy, and comfort, alongside wound care, medication management, and positioning, and keeps your surgical team informed per their orders.
