Home / BBL Recovery

BBL recovery is about positioning, especially at night

A BBL transfers your own fat to the buttocks, and your result depends on how much of that fat survives, which means avoiding pressure on the area.

Why healing through the night protects your result

That means no sitting or lying on the buttocks.

It's easy to roll onto your back at night and undo careful positioning. A Prestige RN keeps you positioned through the night, gets your BBL pillow setup right, and monitors circulation to protect your result.

What we do

  • BBL pillow and prone/side recovery setup
  • Positioning coaching for sitting, sleeping, and moving

Questions patients ask us

How do I sleep after a BBL without ruining my results?

Sleep on your stomach or fully on your side, never on your back, for the timeframe your surgeon sets, typically two to six weeks. The risk is rolling over unconsciously. An overnight nurse maintains your pillow setup and repositions you the moment you drift, which is the part you can't do for yourself.

When can I sit down after a BBL?

Most surgeons allow modified sitting with a BBL pillow under the thighs after one to two weeks, and normal sitting around six to eight weeks, depending on your surgeon's protocol. Direct pressure too early reduces fat-graft survival. Your nurse coaches every sit, transfer, and car ride until it's habit.

Why is the first night after a BBL the riskiest for the result?

Because positioning discipline fails when you're asleep. You're exhausted, medicated, and swollen, and one unconscious roll onto your back puts hours of direct pressure on the graft. Overnight positioning vigilance is the single most concrete thing a recovery nurse does to protect a BBL result.

Do you provide BBL recovery care for out-of-town patients in Philadelphia?

Yes. Many BBL patients travel for surgery and recover in a hotel or rental. Prestige RNs provide overnight and daily recovery care wherever you're staying across Southeastern PA and the Philadelphia suburbs, coordinate with your surgeon's office remotely, and arrange transport from the surgery center.
